Ulster Bank is writing to certain current and former mortgage customers who may have been impacted by a mortgage system-generated error, which was discovered as part of the bank's phased withdrawal from the Republic of Ireland.
The bank said that in most cases "the error had a minimal impact on the amount of interest accrued on the mortgage and/or the phasing of monthly mortgage repayments".
To rectify this, Ulster Bank will make a payment to address the issue. Customers do not need to take any action.
Ulster Bank wishes to sincerely apologise to customers who have been impacted by this issue.
