The 2025 Grammy Awards are set to occur on February 2 in Los Angeles following recent wildfires. According to Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr., the show is vital for supporting workers involved in it and the surrounding industry. It presents an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for those impacted by the disasters. In addition to the awards and performances, the night showcases musicians in their most iconic red-carpet looks, with a historic overview of such fashion choices dating back to 1972.
"If we were to cancel or postpone the show, how would that affect the thousands of people who work on it or around it," Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. told Variety.
"It's a chance for us to use our platform - and, thankfully, our partners at CBS are helpful with this - to raise money and awareness, but it will still have performance and awards."
