The Omaha Mavericks are riding a wave of momentum, currently undefeated in Summit League play and boasting a nine-game winning streak as the college basketball season approaches its conclusion. In a unique promotional effort aimed at filling Baxter Arena, fans can bring trash cans to the game against the Denver Pioneers to fill with popcorn for just $5. This initiative is rooted in a light-hearted team tradition wherein associate head coach Kyan Brown motivates the players by kicking a trash can after victories, fostering an atmosphere of fun and excitement for the fans.
The Mavericks will allow fans to bring their own five-gallon (or smaller) trash cans into the arena to be filled at the concession stand for $5.
A tradition was born: after every win, assistant coach Kyan Brown takes center stage in the locker room and lets loose on a trash can.
