Nineteen-year-old Natalee Fisher from Santa Rosa was taken off life support after being struck by a vehicle while walking her dog, Sebastian. The accident happened near Northwest Community Park. Her father, Nathan Fisher, described the moment leading up to the tragedy as nightmarish, recounting their initial feeling when hearing the ambulance. Following the incident, doctors declared Natalee brain dead. The driver, a 42-year-old woman, stopped after the accident, and investigators are determining fault, with no evidence of alcohol or speeding being involved.
"It's just a nightmare, a living nightmare right now," Nathan Fisher said. "She left, and we heard the ambulance... and then we got the knock, and then it just went downhill from there."
"Just the hardest thing a parent would ever have to do, just the hardest, absolute nightmare," Nathan Fisher said as he fought back tears.
"She was like my best friend," Natalee's sister Hailee said.
Police say the driver was a 42-year-old woman who did stop after the accident. No charges have been filed against her as investigators are still trying to determine who was at fault.
