For years, a relentless pursuit of control over life led to feelings of misalignment and burnout. A personal crisis in winter 2021 prompted reflection during an overwhelming stay in Portugal. Despite seeking solitude, feelings of defeat and chaos prevailed. Observing nature revealed that trust and ease lead to thriving. This realization sparked the understanding that attempting to control outcomes disrupts flow, suggesting that relaxation and yielding may foster a more harmonious life experience.
Nature doesn't force anything. A wave doesn't strive to be taller. A tree doesn't try to grow faster. They exist in a kind of trust—a natural cooperation with life.
The more I tried to control it, the more I felt out of alignment. I would burn out trying to make things happen.
I was obsessed with getting everything right. Planning. Controlling. Anticipating every outcome so I wouldn't be caught off guard.
What if I'm the one disrupting my own flow by trying to control everything?
