Rory McIlroy's recent press conference raised concerns about his current state of mind and energy levels following his Masters victory. Analyst Paul McGinley observed a lack of the usual confidence and competitive fire in McIlroy, suggesting that since winning, he seems to be missing some inner motivation. Despite appearing to practice well and maintaining a positive attitude during sessions with Shane Lowry, McIlroy himself acknowledged the difficulty of transitioning after such a significant win and the need to stay focused moving forward.
It was very worrying looking at his press conference there. His eyes weren't alive. The energy was not there.
I'm no psychologist but it looks like the air has been sucked out of him a little since that. It's very un-Rory-like.
