A young minke whale has been swimming in Long Beach Harbor, prompting marine wildlife experts to offer assistance in guiding it back to open waters. The NOAA's Michael Milstein explained that such occurrences are not unusual, noting past incidents with gray whales. Experts attempted to facilitate the whale's exit by removing barriers and using sound signals but observed that the whale initially swam back into the harbor. They opted to allow the whale some peace to attempt its exit later, emphasizing no immediate danger to the animal exists.
