The Florida Panthers faced the Seattle Kraken in a challenging return match after a two-week break. Despite generating a high volume of shot attempts (64), they struggled to convert, with only 27 shots reaching the net. Coach Paul Maurice noted the team's lack of practice since the break contributed to their inconsistency. Although they managed to equalize in the second period, their performance did not match their earlier winning streak, marking a mixed opening game following the break.
We missed the net on a whole bunch of our better chances, Panthers coach Paul Maurice said.
There was some sloppiness. Just couldn't get a handle on some pretty basic things. That would make sense. We haven't had a full team practice yet [since the break].
Florida's attack came out in waves against Seattle, putting up 64 total shot attempts to 45 by the Kraken.
Inconsistency... showed up on the ice Saturday as the Panthers... tried to regain the rhythm they had before the break when they had won eight of their previous 11 games.
