During a press conference ahead of Super Bowl LIX, Jason McCourty discussed his experience mentoring rookie Jevon Holland after joining the Dolphins. With over a decade in the NFL, McCourty quickly realized Holland's remarkable talent and skills. Following a few practices in 2021, McCourty texted his brother, predicting he wouldn’t be the starter for long. Holland's impressive coverage skills and tackling ability stood out to McCourty. Recently, the Giants made a significant investment in their secondary, signing Holland and cornerback Paulson Adebo to bolster their team.
I'm like, 'I'm not going to be the starter here for long,' McCourty recalled after observing Jevon Holland's skill set during practices.
Jevon walked onto the field in the NFL and he had the ability to cover, the range... and the size and the 'want to' to come up and be a willing and able tackler.
Right away I saw a guy that, from a talent standpoint, could play at a high level.
The Giants invested nearly $100 million last week to sign the duo of Holland and cornerback Paulson Adebo.
