Man jailed for threatening to stab people at a Hialeah Wawa gas station, police say
Briefly

At around 10:35 a.m., police responded to a Wawa gas station in Hialeah after receiving reports of a shirtless man threatening people with a knife.
Joel Medina, 51, allegedly approached two men with a knife, threatening one as he pumped gas and causing panic among bystanders at the gas station.
After threatening the same two men again with the knife visible in his hand, Medina fled after one of them brandished a gun in self-defense.
Medina, who is reportedly unhoused, was later found by police in Medley and has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
