Kenia Fallat, a spokeswoman for the city of Miami, stated, "There is nothing of concern, and despite social media reports, we have received no injuries or severe damages related to the earthquake."
Dara Goldberg from the U.S. Geological Survey mentioned, "Two dozen earthquakes of 5.5 magnitude or more have occurred in that region over decades, but such events are not commonly felt in Miami, hence the concern among residents is understandable."
