Job flexibility was assessed in terms of ease of adjusting work schedules, advance notice of changes, and frequency of schedule changes. Those with greater flexibility had 26% lower odds of serious psychological distress and lower odds of experiencing anxiety.
Those who felt more secure in their positions had 25% lower odds of serious psychological distress, lower odds of experiencing daily anxiety by 27%, and weekly anxiety by 21%.
