What your 'brain score' says about your body - Harvard Gazette
Briefly

The McCance Brain Care Score, designed to evaluate modifiable risk factors for brain health, also correlates with heart disease and three common cancers, according to a new study from Mass General Brigham. By identifying lifestyle changes that promote brain health, individuals may simultaneously reduce their risk for cardiovascular diseases and specific cancers. Senior author Sanjula Singh emphasizes that neurological, cardiovascular diseases, and common cancers all share similar risk factors. The findings promote a holistic approach to health management, advocating for brain care as a means to bolster overall well-being.
While the McCance Brain Care Score was originally developed to address modifiable risk factors for brain diseases, we have also found it's associated with the incidence of cardiovascular disease and common cancers.
These findings reinforce the idea that brain disease, heart disease, and cancer share common risk factors and that by taking better care of your brain, you may also be supporting the health of your heart and body as a whole simultaneously.
