Supporting Transgender and Gender Expansive People
Briefly

Transgender and gender expansive (TGE) individuals are increasingly targeted by legislation and misinformation, which threatens their safety and autonomy. Therapists and allies are called to validate these individuals' experiences without pathologizing their identities, as they endure heightened risks of mental health issues stemming not from their identities but from societal rejection. Issues such as anti-trans bills, healthcare access barriers, and workplace discrimination exacerbate feelings of isolation and despair among TGE individuals, making affirmation and support indispensable in a hostile climate.
Trans people don't suffer for being trans-they suffer from how the world treats them.
Affirmation isn't optional-it's a frontline defense against isolation, harm, and despair.
