Madison Keys, the 30-year-old tennis player, shared her journey of working with a therapist for over a year before winning the Australian Open. Unlike traditional sports psychology, her therapy encompassed broader life philosophies rather than solely focusing on tennis strategies. This experience helped her acknowledge deeper emotions and understand the pressure of constant improvement in her sport. Keys highlights the significance of being introspective and taking time to recognize and process feelings, which often gets overlooked in the competitive environment of sports.
Before she won her first grand slam tournament at the Australian Open in January, Madison Keys had spent more than a year talking to a therapist about her life rather than just her tennis career.
