Federal funding plays a pivotal role in the development of psychological treatments and training future researchers. Institutions such as NIMH and NIH have supported the creation of effective psychotherapies, particularly in fields addressing anxiety, depression, and other conditions. Currently, a freeze or interruption of this funding poses significant challenges, as exemplified by the delayed review of three significant NIH grants intended to innovate digital intervention delivery. The reliance on federal funding remains paramount to ensure continued advances in psychology beyond pharmaceutical solutions.
