"According to Cancer Research UK (CRUK) there are around 12,300 new brain, other central nervous system (CNS) and intracranial tumour cases in the UK every year or 34 every day on average. Survival rates for brain tumors are difficult to predict due to the many different types, but around 15 out of every 100 people with cancerous brain tumors will survive for 10 years or more. The most common type of brain tumor in adults is glioblastoma multiforme."

There are many different types of brain tumors, with glioblastoma being a high-grade type that develops from glial cells in the brain.
