Soda additive "no longer considered safe," gets long-awaited FDA ban

After more than five decades, the FDA banned BVO, a toxic additive used in foods since the 1920s. Safety concerns arose as studies found harmful effects like thyroid abnormalities and fatty acid accumulation.
