The tool analyzes fat around the heart for signs of inflammation, which are invisible to the human eye. It provides a risk score to help doctors monitor patients effectively. In a study involving 72,000 patients, the tool achieved 86% accuracy in predicting heart failure risk. Those in the highest risk group had a significantly increased likelihood of developing the condition within five years. The research aims to extend this method to all chest CT scans.
