NHS soup and shake' diet puts almost a third of type 2 diabetes cases in remission
Briefly

Patients on an 800-calorie-a-day soup and shake diet saw almost one in three permanently reverse their type 2 diabetes, with some losing up to 17.4kg. The programme includes low-calorie meal replacements for three months followed by support to reintroduce normal food.
Results from the NHS scheme showed that 32% of participants had their type 2 diabetes in remission, backed by data from 945 people who completed a full year of the programme. The average weight loss was 15.9kg, and the initiative aims to benefit thousands more individuals.
