New Study Found Severe Mental Health Risks Linked to Common ADHD Meds
Briefly

According to the study, individuals taking high doses of amphetamines face a significantly increased risk for developing psychosis or mania, emphasizing the need for cautious prescribing.
The research indicated that patients taking typical higher dosages, such as Adderall at over 40 mg or Vyvanse above 100 mg, had up to a 5.3-fold increased risk for psychosis.
Lead author Lauren Moran noted the prevalence of psychosis linked to amphetamines, stating, "We've seen this a lot," highlighting the condition's recognition within the medical community.
With these findings, the study underscores the importance of monitoring dosages, particularly since more than 30 mg is often considered the upper prescribed limit.
