In vitro reconstitution of epigenetic reprogramming in the human germ line
Briefly

Epigenetic reprogramming and differentiation of human pluripotent stem cell-derived germ cells into pro-spermatogonia or oogonia was achieved with massive amplification, driven by BMP signaling and modulation of MAPK/ERK pathway and DNMT activities.
Deficiency in TET1, an active DNA demethylase, leads to differentiation into extraembryonic cell lineages, highlighting the importance of this enzyme in germ cell development.
