The abject absence of hope, or hopelessness, is at the heart of most, perhaps all, suicidal struggles, making the challenge of reducing it daunting.
The daunting challenge of suicidal risk compels many mental health care providers to avoid these patients, leading to referrals or unnecessary admissions instead of providing hope.
Hope is critical for suicidal patients, as it serves as the remedy for suicidal risk, and this necessity extends to clinicians themselves.
In our research, we observe clinicians working with CAMS to master hope-restoring techniques, demonstrating the transformative power of hope in the treatment of suicidality.
