When I think about navigating the newsroom - in particular for early-career reporters - one of the things I think is really important is kind of knowing which hills to die on vs. knowing (when you can leave an issue) alone and go with the flow. I think you want to learn how to strike a balance between standing up for what you believe in and speaking your truth.
Younger journalists need to be assertive, and put that at the top of the list of what they're going to do.
