Ted Turner, the founder of CNN, has passed away at the age of 87. He was known for his leadership and commitment to media innovation. Turner transformed television news with the launch of CNN and was a notable philanthropist, founding the United Nations Foundation and donating $1 billion to the UN. He also established the Nuclear Threat Initiative to address global security threats. Turner was recognized as Time magazine's Man of the Year in 1991 and is survived by his five children and numerous grandchildren.
