MrBeast sued by Mexican government over Mayan video
Briefly

MrBeast, a renowned YouTuber, faces a lawsuit from the Mexican government for purportedly violating the terms of his archeological permit related to filming at Mayan pyramids. The controversy arose after he promoted his snack brand, Feastables, during a video showcasing ancient temples. Mexican authorities stress that the filming permit forbade commercial use, asserting that the nation's heritage cannot be used for profit by commercial entities. The government's action has sparked public criticism, with citizens pointing out flaws in the initial permitting process that allowed the filming in the first place.
The nation's heritage, which is public by nature, cannot be exploited by commercial enterprises. For this reason, the INAH has filed lawsuit against the production company, demanding compensation for damages and a public retraction.
We disagree with those who take advantage of the willingness of institutions to violate the terms of the authorizations granted.
Continuing with this farce of sanctioning the YouTuber will only further undermine the government's credibility; the mistake is not MrBeast's, it is the one who gave them permission from the beginning.
