How the Guardian will stand up to four more years of Donald Trump
Briefly

In 2016, we promised that our coverage of a Donald Trump administration would meet the moment and I think it did. We never minimised or normalised the threat of Trump's authoritarianism, clearly treating his lies as a genuine danger to democracy, which culminated in the events of January 6, 2021.
Margaret Sullivan spelled out in black and white the threat to a free press from another Trump presidency. He poses a clear threat to journalists, calling them an enemy of the people, which undermines legitimate journalism.
Kash Patel has mentioned, 'We're going to come after people in the media,' and with Project 2025, there are plans to ease the seizing of journalists' emails and phone records, raising grave concerns for press freedom.
We will stand up to these threats by promoting brave, independent journalism. It's crucial that we sustain reporting that cannot be manipulated by billionaires fearful of a bully in the White House.
