AfrAId review throwaway AI-themed horror devoid of suspense
Briefly

In the dog days of summer, on a particularly rubbishy Labor Day weekend at the movies, it’s at least reassuring to know that very few people will find themselves stuck with this one.
The film is a hokey and rushed jumble of half-ideas that’s as gimmicky and eye-rollingly stupid as its title, failing to engage even the least discerning of horror fans.
Be afraid. With the film industry losing ground to AI, this chiller about artificial intelligence feels timely but ultimately misfires due to poor execution.
While it’s competently shot and refreshingly dour, AfrAId is too sloppily written for viewers to really enjoy, being a patchwork of nonsense.
