A serious vulnerability (CVE-2025-3102) affecting OttoKit, a WordPress automation plugin, allows unauthorized users to create admin accounts if the plugin is installed but unconfigured. Discovered by Michael Mazzolini, the flaw enables attackers to seize control of any vulnerable site, install malicious software, or redirect visitors. The bug affects all versions up to 1.0.78 and was actively exploited shortly after its public disclosure. Users are urged to update to version 1.0.79 to mitigate risk.
"The SureTriggers: All-in-One Automation Platform plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to an authentication bypass leading to administrative account creation due to a missing empty value check on the 'secret_key' value in the 'authenticate_user' function in all versions up to, and including, 1.0.78."
"This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to create administrator accounts on the target website when the plugin is installed and activated but not configured with an API key."
