Meta has initiated legal action against Joy Timeline HK Limited due to their app, CrushAI, which creates unauthorized AI-generated explicit images. The lawsuit aims to prevent the company from advertising these products on Meta's platforms, namely Facebook and Instagram, after previous ads were repeatedly removed for violating community guidelines. This endeavor highlights Meta's commitment to combating abuse and ensuring community safety, and they are increasing enforcement methods by developing new technologies to identify inappropriate ads and collaborating with experts to enhance their ad review processes.
This follows multiple attempts by Joy Timeline HK Limited to circumvent Meta's ad review process and continue placing these ads, after they were repeatedly removed for breaking our rules.
This legal action underscores both the seriousness with which we take this abuse and our commitment to doing all we can to protect our community from it.
We've developed new technology specifically designed to identify these types of ads, even when the ads themselves don't include nudity.
Since the start of the year, our expert teams have run in-depth investigations to expose and disrupt four separate networks of accounts that were attempting to run ads promoting these services.
