Google is extending its AI-powered Search experience to advertisements. When users search for products, Gemini can surface relevant sponsored items and generate a custom explainer describing why a specific product should be purchased. Search ads will also include an “Ask a question” button that starts a conversation with Gemini. The chatbot can use information from the ad and related sources to answer questions during the shopping flow.
