Google has introduced new support for loyalty and membership programs through structured data, enhancing how businesses can represent these offerings. This update allows businesses without a Merchant Center account to define loyalty programs using Organization structured data, alongside benefits in Product structured data. For users with a Merchant Center account, Google recommends defining loyalty programs directly within that platform. Additionally, businesses can validate their markup using the Google rich testing tool to ensure correct implementation and visibility in search results.
Today we're adding support for defining loyalty programs under Organization structured data combined with loyalty benefits under Product structured data.
Adding a loyalty program under your Organization structured data is especially important if you don't have a Merchant Center account and want the ability to provide a loyalty program for your business.
If you have a Merchant Center account we recommend defining your loyalty program there instead.
Using the tool, you can confirm whether or not your markup is valid. For example, here is a test for loyalty program markup.
