Dollar General prioritizes in-store audio over digital screens
""When you think about the size of our stores, we think it actually lends them very well to in-store audio. We don't have a lot of extra space to put screens up.""
""The software and the measurement process were pretty manual and pretty basic in terms of what we wanted to do.""
""Going all-in on audio allows the company to move faster on advertising than other retailers.""
Dollar General is expanding its in-store audio network to 12,000 stores by July through a partnership with QSIC. This expansion includes 6,000 stores previously using another provider. The company aims to make the audio channel more productive and scalable. Austin Leonard, vp and general manager of DG Media Network, emphasized that the store format is better suited for audio than digital screens. The previous audio provider had basic measurement capabilities, prompting the switch to QSIC for improved functionality and speed in advertising.
