DOGE has arrived at the FTC
Briefly

Two members of Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Gavin Kliger and Emily Bryant, were spotted at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), where they are tasked with combating waste, fraud, and abuse. Under FTC chair Andrew Ferguson, the agency's operations are shifting toward increased presidential control. The FTC, with access to sensitive data due to its regulatory role over companies like X (formerly Twitter), faces scrutiny regarding potential misuse of confidential information, especially in ongoing investigations against major corporations like Meta.
It's unclear what DOGE will target now that it is under the hood of the FTC. The agency has access to a vast trove of nonpublic information on businesses it investigates.
FTC chair Andrew Ferguson has already made clear that he believes regulatory agencies should operate under the control of the president, not as the independent bodies they've traditionally been.
