Whalar Group has announced its acquisition of Business of Creativity for $20 million, marking its first acquisition following a significant investment led by Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff. This acquisition aims to augment Whalar's educational tools and connections between brands and creators. Founded in 2022, Business of Creativity offers online courses run by industry experts. Co-CEO Neil Waller highlighted the shift in the creator economy towards mainstream recognition, predicting continued mergers and acquisitions in the sector as it matures.
It feels like our industry has gone from the fringe to a boardroom priority," Whalar Group co-CEO Neil Waller said about the creator economy. "It's just part of mainstream culture now, given the level of professionalism, the level of consumption, the level of impact that it has on building and shaping culture."
This is Whalar's first acquisition since landing funding from Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and other investors who bought a stake in the company.
