The European Commission has announced it's stepping up monitoring of TikTok's compliance with the Digital Services Act due to its impact on Romania's elections.
Failures in compliance could lead to penalties as high as 6% of TikTok's global annual turnover, as scrutiny expands to democratic risks, not just child safety.
