Advancements in digital marketing have highlighted the importance of images, with more than half of content marketers noting that pictures are essential for social media success.
Our studies revealed that posts featuring more complex images attracted more attention. Interestingly, the placement and timing of posts considerably influenced how users engaged with these visuals.
Using biometric eye-tracking, we found that color complexity in images can boost engagement, especially when images are larger and posted at optimal times during the day.
Interestingly, when images accompanied negative texts, the impact of color complexity diminished, indicating that the emotional context matters in how visuals are perceived.
