Senior INEOS official steps down from Man Utd board for new role
Briefly

Manchester United has reshuffled its management structure by removing Jean-Claude Blanc as a director, appointing him to an advisory role as Chief of International Football Relations. This change is part of a broader effort to enhance the club's operational effectiveness. Alongside this, Michael Sansoni will join United to bolster their data analysis capabilities, an area highlighted by the team's ownership as needing urgent attention. Ratcliffe noted that competitors like Liverpool and Brentford have already made significant strides in data analytics, indicating a critical gap for United.
"Jean-Claude Blanc has stepped down from his position as a director of Manchester United, however he will continue to have an active role in the management of the club in his new position as Chief of International Football Relations and Special Adviser to the board."
"United completely missed the data revolution," the British billionaire sighed, "which Brighton and Brentford didn't, which Liverpool didn't either. Liverpool had Ian Graham analysing data between 2012 and 2023."
"Graham was the forerunner and United missed out," Ratcliffe continued. "We're still missing out, because we still don't have data analysis at United."
Ratcliffe has previously described United as still being in the "last century" over data analysis, expressing concern over the club's failure to harness modern analytical techniques.
