Ruben Amorim was removed as Manchester United head coach after 14 months in charge following a mixed run of form and perceived criticism of the club hierarchy after a 1-1 draw at Leeds. Manchester United plan to appoint a caretaker manager until the end of the season, with former midfielder Darren Fletcher temporarily in charge. Early names linked to the permanent role include Oliver Glasner and Enzo Maresca. Amorim became the sixth top-flight manager to lose his job this season.
