Alex and Kayla Vesia announced that their daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia, died on October 26. The couple expressed deep pain and said they cherish every second they had with her. The Dodgers had announced before the World Series that Alex Vesia would be away from the team due to a "deeply personal family matter." The Vesias thanked the Dodgers, Dodger fans, the Blue Jays organization and baseball fans for their messages and support. They also thanked Cedars-Sinai and the medical staff who helped Kayla and Sterling. Dodgers Nation sent prayers to the family.
