After an earlier loss, the Dodgers rebounded with an 11-4 win in Colorado. The offense produced early damage with two-out doubles from Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez and homers in the second, including a 453-foot shot and Shohei Ohtani's 44th. The third inning added three runs via singles from Freddie, Teoscar, Call and Miguel Rojas plus Buddy Kennedy's infield single to make it 7-0. The team left several runners in scoring position across multiple innings. Emmet Sheehan worked through trouble, yielding runs in the fourth following defensive mishaps and a two-run homer by Brenton Doyle.
The Dodgers offense started by getting back to their two-out shenanigans in the 1st, as walked and back-to-back doubles from Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernandez drove in runs to make it 2-0 early. In the 2nd, they did things with a long ball, as hit his fourth homer - a no-doubt shot that went 453 feet - and then Shohei Ohtani hit his 44th homer to make it 4-0.
On the mound for the Dodgers was Emmet Sheehan, who got a clean 1st and worked around a lead-off single in the 2nd. He also got into some trouble in the 3rd after a ball that was ruled an "infield single" was really just Buddy Kennedy throwing wide, leading umpire Lance Barksdale to collide with Ryan Ritter. A walk followed that, but Sheehan navigated around the traffic.
