The Braves have signed first baseman Garrett Cooper to a minor league contract, with an invitation for Spring Training, aiming for stability after a tumultuous few years.
Cooper spent most of his eight MLB seasons with the Marlins but struggled recently, posting a .206/.267/.299 line in 116 plate appearances.
After being dealt to the Padres and struggling with the Cubs and Red Sox, Cooper is looking for a fresh start in Atlanta.
Despite a decline in performance, Cooper was an All-Star in 2022 when he hit .274/.350/.444 over 1273 plate appearances with the Marlins.
