NFL partners with TMRW Sports for pro flag football league
""It's been a long time coming," Fitzgerald said Monday. "And I think just with the growth of the game, as you see it expanded internationally, obviously with the Olympic announcement of flag football coming, we thought it would be a great opportunity to really expand it.""
""Flag football has become fundamental for the NFL's international and league strategy. By the NFL's count, there are 20 million flag football players across 100 countries," said Peter O'Reilly, the NFL's executive vice president."
""That was critical to really find the right partner that we would lock arms with to bring this professional life league to life for men and women," O'Reilly said."
The NFL is expanding into flag football by partnering with TMRW Sports to create a professional league for men and women. This initiative has been in development for two years, with support from all 32 teams and significant investments from notable figures in football. The league aims to capitalize on the growing popularity of flag football, which has 20 million players worldwide. An initial investment of up to $32 million has been authorized through the NFL's investment arm, 32 Equity.
