Rashee Rice, a Kansas City Chiefs receiver, was ordered to serve 30 days in jail after violating probation with a positive THC test. He was booked in Dallas County, Texas, and is scheduled for release on 16 June, which will cause him to miss organized team activities and a mandatory minicamp. The probation violation stems from a street-racing crash in March 2024 that injured multiple people. Rice pleaded guilty in July to two third-degree felonies and received five years of probation with deferred adjudication tied to a 30-day jail sentence. Prosecutors said he drove a Lamborghini Urus at 119 mph, made aggressive maneuvers, struck other vehicles, failed to check on victims, and fled. He previously said he had changed after earlier discipline, including a six-game suspension, and he contributed to Kansas City’s 2023 Super Bowl win.
"Rice has played parts of three seasons, missing time because of the suspension and a knee injury. He helped Kansas City win the Super Bowl in the 2023 season. The 26-year-old caught 53 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns in eight games last season. A second-round pick by the Chiefs in 2023, Rice has 156 receptions for 1,797 yards and 14 scores in 28 career games."
