The blaze, named the Bridge Fire, exploded to over 48,000 acres, becoming the largest in the state and part of four concurrent wildfires.
Ryan LaMothe, whose home was destroyed by the Airport Fire, stated, 'There was no more exit, you had to drive through the flames to get out.'
Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency and indicated he had secured federal funds to combat the wildfires.
Authorities reported that over a dozen injuries have been documented as severe heatwave conditions fueled the rapid spread of the fires.
