Shark monitoring system pings California lifeguards. But lack of funds could end program
Briefly

The Shark Lab at Cal State Long Beach tracks juvenile white sharks along California's coastline, sending real-time data to lifeguards via text alerts and a website for improved beach safety and public understanding.
Initially funded by the state in 2018, the program faces closure due to lack of funding after successfully tagging 300 juvenile white sharks and monitoring around 235 of them.
