A Los Angeles superior court judge sentenced a man to 32 years in prison for killing rapper Slim 400. Born Vincent Cohran Jr., Slim 400 was 33 years old when he was fatally shot outside his Inglewood home by Michael Lanell Terry.
Dist. Atty. George Gascón expressed condolences to Slim 400's family, calling the killing a tragic act of gun violence that took an artist from the Los Angeles community too soon.
Slim 400 survived being shot nine times in 2019, underwent surgery, and spent 15 days in the hospital. He later described seeing a 'black light, or a dark cloud' after the shooting.
Slim 400 reflected on his near-death experience by expressing a plea to God for a second chance to turn his life around and make better choices after the hospitalization.
