Evan Lovett, a popular YouTube podcaster, recently backtracked on his claim regarding a 911 call made after a burglary at his home. Initially stating he waited nearly an hour for a response, Lovett later confessed in a video that he actually connected with a dispatcher within two minutes. He acknowledged his error, attributing the confusion to the chaos of the traumatic incident. Lovett praised the 911 dispatchers for their efficiency and the LAPD for their quick arrival, noting the importance of clarifying the situation amidst growing public concern over response times.
To be fully honest in my recollection when the call was transferred was the time in my head that the clock started. It was a huge mistake on my part.
I want to make that clear. They answered, they asked what went on, Lovett said in the video.
They are doing a fantastic job. As is the LAPD who came within six minutes, Lovett added in the video.
His initial, erroneous complaint drew online attention over the weekend and comments from local officials concerned about the apparent slow 911 response time.
