Ladell Tharpe, a 39-year-old man, was sentenced to seven years for a Beverly Hills smash-and-grab robbery that occurred in March 2022, where he and his accomplices stole over $2.6 million in jewelry. Tharpe and his cohorts used crowbars and sledgehammers to break into a store, stealing high-value items. After the robbery, Tharpe flaunted his ill-gotten gains on social media. He was arrested in March 2023 and pled guilty to Hobbs Act robbery. His accomplices have also faced prison time and restitution requirements for their involvement.
