Heat wave is coming to Southern California, with triple-digit temps in San Fernando Valley
Briefly

Southern California is bracing for a significant heat wave, with temperatures expected to surpass 100 degrees in areas like the San Fernando Valley. Meteorologist David Gomberg predicts widespread highs of 80 to 90 degrees early in the week. The peak temperatures will be experienced on Wednesday and Thursday, with downtown Los Angeles seeing lows in the 80s climbing to the low 90s midweek. Heat advisories are likely, urging caution for outdoor activities, especially for the elderly and young children. By Saturday, temperatures should return to seasonal averages.
"We're looking at pretty widespread 80 to 90 degrees for highs Monday across the Valley," said David Gomberg, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.
"I'd say Wednesday and Thursday are going to be the two hottest days," Gomberg said. "Saturday is when things should get back to normal."
